Chinese Studies at Queen's College.

Rules agreed on by the undersigned after meeting together.

Admission.

The Entrance Examination already prescribed shall be upon the "Four Books", and the "Three Character" and "Millenary" Classics;

or

alternately such as will show that the candidates have been studying for about 2 years, and are able to write a simple letter.

Until the end of 1906, boys otherwise qualified, and who have not previously been educated at Queen's College, may be admitted to the Upper School without regard to their knowledge of Chinese. But from January 1907 and onwards no boy shall be admitted to the Upper School until he shall have passed the Fourth Vernacular Standard.

Promotion.

No boy shall be promoted from or within Classes IV to VII in New Year 1905, without passing in the First (Lowest) Vernacular Standard; nor in Classes V - VI in New Year 1906 without passing in the Second Vernacular Standard; nor in Classes IV - V in New Year 1907 without passing in the Third Vernacular Standard; nor in Class IV in New Year 1908 without passing in the Fourth Vernacular Standard.

Note: The above regulations only apply to boys in Chinese dress.
